Bio / background: My name is Brooks Peterson, and Across Cultures is my small independent company, never pretending to be a big one. I’m Canadian and American (bilingual English/French) and live in Nova Scotia.
My earliest experience included teaching French and cross-cultural topics. In grad school I started to build simple web pages for research and data collection, then in 1997 I launched Across Cultures on the web. I’ve always been passionate about the many ways digital technologies can enhance education.
I’ve spent most of my time so far in North America and after that, in Europe (especially France) and I’ve travelled a bit too. I’ve worked as a cross-cultural trainer and consultant to various organizations in various fields and industries. I have also taught Intercultural Communication and other international management topics, mostly at the graduate level and also at the undergraduate level, and have a B.A. in French, an M.Ed. in Adult Education, and a Ph.D. in Second Languages and Cultures Education.
